Aude Christel Mgba

/ interhistorical /

Aude is an independent curator and art historian based between Cameroon and The Netherlands. In her practice, Mgba engages with decoloniality through research projects and the creation of platforms that aim to transcribe, translate, and embody ancestral knowledge. The curatorial experiences of Mgba include collaborations that question forms of making and showing art that tend to be centred between art institutions and art workers. She is more interested in a collaboration that expands beyond those spaces to embrace different communities.

PRESENTING

Reflection in progress that investigates the concept of Interhistorical/Interhistoricities from the point of view of Aude Christel Mgba and Ima-Abasi Okon through a written conversation/diary. Project in the framework of the 3Package Deal 2021-2022 where both curator and artist were respectively invited to be part of the coalition named interhistorical coalition including the following institutions: H401, Museum van Loon, Oude Kerk, Reinwardt Academie.

The invitation was first addressed to Aude Christel Mgba to join the coalition for a period of a year which will help build a relationship with an artist towards the making of a duo project. It is in this idea that Ima-Abasi Okon has been invited to join the conversation and to also be the next grantee of the 3Package Deal of the same coalition.
