Carolina Bianchi /Urban Realm/
Reading of an excerpt from "The Armless Lady”.
The Brazilian theatre maker, writer, and performer, read part of the text “The Armless Lady”, a reflection on memory, rape and revenge films, sexual violence and self-defense.
Carolina Bianchi is currently based in Amsterdam. Her work is situated between theater and performance, where theory and practice are inseparable. Her plays depart from a crisis perspective to launch confabulations about gender violence, historical pacts, and intend an erotic approximation with History. Her staging is a combination of different references from literature, cinema and painting, filled with musical mashups, and a constant confrontation with everything that seems to be an absolute truth.
