Fariborz Karimi /Urban Realm/
Can we walk together again? As we walk, we create the same rhythm, trying to balance our mindsets, and then... collaboration begins. We start thinking about how to take care of each other during this walk. Are we at risk of falling?
Whispered Dreams is a text based performance and installation made in close collaboration with Mona.A, who is based in Tehran. The final iteration of the work will be a performance for the theatre that explores the themes of friendship and self-censorship through an interactive format. The project is currently in development through various residencies.
Fariborz Karimi is a theatre maker, performer and writer based between Amsterdam and Tehran. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Directing and Acting from Tehran University in 2013 and graduated with a master's degree from DAS Theater in 2023. Through his artistic practice, he questions the meanings of self-censorship in different contexts, drawing from his own experiences. Karimi explores socio-political themes through autobiographical and fictional narratives, blurring the line between dream and reality. His work has been supported by HELLERAU, Arts centre BUDA, Workspacebrussels, and Productiehuis Theater Rotterdam.
