		<description>Luca Gerry Conte
Bio Art and Design

Luca Gerry Conte is an artist, gastronome and storyteller. His practice explores how artworks and situations evolve across space and time, creating multisensory experiences that encourage an ecological awareness of the environments we inhabit. Working with food, natural materials and interactive elements, he explores the potential for social and poetic transformation. His research into material and gastronomic metamorphosis draws attention to the extraordinary within the ordinary, inviting audiences to engage with familiar environments in unexpected ways. These encounters often require a small effort or moment of friction, opening up possibilities for intimate narratives and connections. Underlying his practice is an alchemic process. A quiet, ongoing research into transformation, not only of matter, but also of meaning and personal experience.
What Happened to the World? What Happened to That Child? is an installation that explores the relationship between ecological transformation, everyday rituals and play. Building on his research into food and its potential beyond consumption, Conte works with organic materials and experimental creations that challenge conventional ways of interacting with our surroundings. The installation at Felix Meritis creates a space for both activity and rest, where domestic gestures meet playful experimentation with living materials. Rather than treating these materials as fixed objects, Conte considers their capacity to change, decay, and become part of ongoing cycles of transformation. Through this approach, the work reflects on what nourishes a body, guided by personal experience, curiosity and imagination. During the whole event, the space will be open to anyone to rest and play, with the aid of Pietro Lugaro and Enrica Arbia, who will facilitate the creation of a playful soundscape.

Cabaret

Martijn van Arkel is a writer and performer, working in theatre and poetry. His texts move between the everyday and the existential, considering how small gestures and ordinary experiences can carry larger meanings. Drawing on childhood memories, bodily experiences and family narratives, he writes about how people relate to one another and questions whether faith and religion are enough to provide a sense of connection. He graduated from Writing for Performance at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Together with his brother Jeroen van Arkel, he developed a performance titled Onze Vader, about their father, a reverend, with which they reached the finals of the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival.
For his presentation at Felix Meritis, he will perform alongside his brother, drawing on their ongoing collaboration for the new theatre production Zeg Maar U. Inspired by the biblical story of Cain and Abel, the two brothers explore their differences, and their search for something worth believing in. Moving between poetry, spoken text and absurd observations, the performance considers brotherhood, masculinity and the ways family relationships shape our understanding of ourselves and one another.

Dance

Elisa Zuppini is an Italian-born choreographer based in Amsterdam. She graduated from the School for New Dance Development (SNDO). Since 2016, she has been developing De.sy.re., a pioneering movement system that forms the basis of her artistic language. She is a member of Jakoozi, a collective of Amsterdam-based choreographers. She recently premiered Disambiguation, a large ensemble work featuring 15 performers. The work deepens her research into collective perception, libidinal economies, and altered states of attention shaped by contemporary nocturnal culture, exploring how ambiguity and desire can function as dynamic forces in reorganizing collective experience.

Himalaya (2019–ongoing) is a solo performance that brings together sculpture, metaphysical fiction and electronic music. The work considers different perceptions of time and the ways in which the body relates to its surroundings. Through movement, Zuppini explores the relationship between the body and different systems of perception of time and space. She contrasts the slow processes of geological erosion, the accelerating imagery of digital environments and the repetitive movements of machines. These different rhythms and forces meet in the body, creating moments of tension and transformation. Since its first presentation in 2019, Himalaya has continued to evolve alongside Zuppini's artistic practice and her ongoing research into movement, technology and contemporary society. The latest version, developed in 2026, incorporates new musical material from Hesaitix's album Noctian Airgap. His electronic compositions move between organic and synthetic sounds, contributing to the work's shifting sense of time.

		<description>Tumelo Mtimkhulu
Engaged ArtTumelo Mtimkhulu is an artist from South Africa, working between Johannesburg and Amsterdam. His practice questions the language and architectures through which established social realities are constructed and maintained. He approaches these realities, and the ways they shape experiences of upbringing, labour, loss, geopolitics, imagination, love and language, with suspicion. Through poetry and material abstraction, Mtimkhulu investigates how particular ways of living and understanding the world come to be presented as natural and inevitable, despite often reflecting the imagination of a few. His practice encompasses an expanding range of materials and forms, including visual and written text, plaster, cement, concrete, everyday objects, sound and video.
Commonplace takes vibracrete walls as a starting point for considering how social realities come to be perceived as fixed and unchangeable. Drawing on the visual language of privacy, domestic interiors and architectural divisions, the installation brings together material abstractions, curtains and structures that are classically used to establish the binary of public and/or private space. Referencing the use of curtains to divide open-plan homes in working-class South African households, the work considers how physical structures shape social relations and everyday life. At the same time, it questions how imagination, desire and ordinary acts of living can offer forms of resistance, and how these possibilities may themselves become absorbed into established social realities.

Fashion

Noukhey Forster is an independent fashion designer and multidisciplinary artist whose practice brings together fashion, artistic research and cultural heritage. As the founder of the fashion label OHIM, he explores personal and collective histories, with a particular focus on the experiences and cultural heritage of the African diaspora. Working across couture, film, photography and installation, he approaches fashion as a form of archiving, translating memories, identities and perspectives into physical forms that can be seen, worn and passed on. As a self-taught designer, Forster draws on the narratives of underrepresented communities to develop an experimental approach to menswear couture, creating space for perspectives that have often remained overlooked.
Fragments of OHIM is an interdisciplinary performance combining fashion, installation, dance, music and film. Bringing together different elements of Forster’s practice, the performance reveals the layers that shape OHIM as a label, from cultural research to artistic translation. Through a combination of archival garments, newly developed work, live performance and music, Fragments of OHIM explores how these elements inform one another, creating a dialogue between past experiences, present interpretations and future possibilities. The performance marks a significant moment in the development of OHIM, bringing together previously distinct strands of Forster’s practice as he moves towards a more cohesive artistic direction.

		<description>Mei Liu
Film

Mei Liu is an interdisciplinary artist from Shanghai with a background in documentary filmmaking and artistic research. Her practice approaches worldbuilding through performance, workshops, collective gatherings and film. Her work is process-driven, polyphonic and communal, considering the body as a site where the spiritual and political intersect. Guided by questions such as “what is freedom?” and “what makes us human?”, she draws from methods including lucid dreaming, oral history, improvisation and live performance. Through these approaches, she brings forward erased histories, silenced voices and other ghosts from invisible realms, giving space to what has been repressed, rejected or forgotten.
My Body is a Resonance Chamber is a live performance and installation, created from a dream that the artist had of her swallowing an SD memory card. The memories inside the card start bubbling up in her body, slowing taking host. Narratives from historical accounts and first hand encounters are weaved together to draw out the body’s subterranean memories. In the work, bodies become slowly possessed and contaminated by histories and by technologies. The floor installation gradually shakes the performer’s body out of control, as live saxophone breathes for the audience.

Interhistoricity

Munganyende is a Kigali born librettist and poet, who has spent the last decade dreaming, dancing, and wake-working for the wicked woman. Munganyende’s practice centers errant girlflesh, taking shape through opera, fiction, and stage prose. Their debut prose, Liberté, Égalité, Beyoncé, was published in Amsterdam in 2021. In 2023, their work was included in the anthology The Black Joy Project (HarperCollins). Munganyende is an alum of the Zanele Muholi Art Institute in Cape Town, the Accra based Black Atlantic residency at the Library of Africa and Tin House writers workshop. Munganyende practices between Paris, Dakar, and Amsterdam.
This Black Instrument is a video performance featuring a conversation between the artist and soprano Claron McFadden about the makings and unmakings of Black sound. The performance is undercut with scenes following a woman wearing a long red velvet durag, accompanied by the wailing, hurling and moaning sound of a soprano voice.

The video work is an extension of the three-act opera Douceur, developed over the past year, drawing on research at The Black Archives Amsterdam, the Museum of Black Futures and the histories embedded in the historic Oude Kerk.

Music

Dimitra Sofroniou is a composer and multidisciplinary artist from Greece who recently obtained her master’s degree in Composition from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Her work considers the connections between sound, space and visual media, often through collaborations with visual artists, filmmakers and choreographers. Her current research focuses on field recordings and the creation of sonic landscapes, considering how personal memories and everyday environments are experienced through sound. She is particularly interested in domestic and urban soundscapes as spaces where personal memory intersects with broader social and political realities.
Our Love Began Here, and Here It Will End is a spatial music composition created for an octaphonic setup, combining field recordings with processed sound material. The work emerges from the artist’s experience of leaving Greece and living between Belgium and the Netherlands. Moving between these places has made her increasingly attentive to the sonic landscapes of different cities and spaces. Each time she returns to her parents’ apartment in Athens, certain sounds feel more familiar than others. When alone, she listens to the house as it seems to speak back to her. Through active listening, everyday sounds become amplified, while others that might normally go unnoticed begin to emerge: television news, conversations from the street, footsteps, cracks and movements. Listening closely reveals how a sonic landscape carries traces of its social environment, reflecting both personal memories and the wider society in which it exists. The presentation at Felix Meritis is a fixed media excerpt from the ongoing project.&#38;nbsp;
Please note: the work addresses themes of gender-based violence and femicide, which may be triggering for some audience members.

		<description>Noor de Vries
Publishing/Performance

Noor de Vries is a video artist, researcher, writer, and film programmer. She questions who the city is built for, what drives people to come together in political movements and communities, and what prevents them from doing so. In recent years, archives of social movements have formed the starting point for her video essays and publications. Through anecdotes, fragments of documents and conversations, she encounters histories that can never be fully reconstructed. Her practice revolves around republishing and remixing archival material in speculative ways, seeking to reactivate its political potential. In doing so, she engages with contemporary political concerns surrounding militarisation, climate change, fascism and gentrification.

Two Hands is a two-channel video installation that explores the tension between idealism and pragmatism within political movements. Taking the Kabouterbeweging, a Dutch activist organisation of the 1970s, as a point of departure, the work examines how this movement sought to combine the creation of an alternative society with political change from within existing institutions. Drawing on archival material from the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam, de Vries combines historical documents, found footage and her own imagery. The video work forms a dialogue between different historical moments. De Vries considers the recurring dilemmas of political organising and asks what role utopian thinking can have today, particularly in a context of growing militarisation and political uncertainty. The video work is shown in connection to Savva Dudin’s performance taking place in the same room.
